Patrick Murphy, (a
registered "Decline to State" Independent
voter) Theoretically, in America, we are all Kings and Queens. "We the people" run the show through the world's first constitution. The founding fathers thought that was better than rule by one man or woman or even small group of men and women. They thought we could do a better job than the King of England and its Parliament. Today, we find that Americans have abdicated their thrones with a variety of excuses that you can easily imagine. Through our laziness and poor judgment of character, we have allowed the Republican and Democratic parties to represent us. We do not take responsibility for their actions and continue to blame the party representatives while reelecting them to office. There is nothing logical about America. Perhaps there never was. In America, two plus two equals seven. Why Aliens don't Stop Here We must look pretty silly to any extraterrestrial civilization that happens upon us. We invest our hard earned corporate money back into the same corporations that enslave us, never really knowing who or what we had invested in. We are emotionally and irresponsibly driven to elect politicians that we know in our hearts won't really represent us. We repeat mistakes over and over again because we fail to understand our own history and we are strongly superstitious. No wonder aliens fly on. There are So Many Problems A positive goal for each of us would involve our staying as informed as possible and then acting responsibly. Our focus and personal training should be towards our own actions and less on the actions of others. We have proven that Christians have as many oddballs as Muslims. Perhaps there's a lesson there. If we really want a better planet, we're going to have to grow up first. There are so many problems. Why does 70 percent of the planet have to drink filthy water? Why is 25% of the planet starving to death? Why do we still have so much war and crime? Why do so many of us procreate irresponsibly? Ironically, too many arrogant Americans think of themselves as being so much further out of Plato's cave that we can tell the rest of the world what to do with themselves and their property. We think we can make people be like us. Perhaps this is the biggest problem–our pride and arrogance. There are So Many Solutions First, we must change our own personal attitude. We must take responsibility for our own actions and leave others to their own decisions. We must decide that we cannot and should not make others be like us. This automatically puts others on the defensive and pits them stubbornly against us. We must divorce ourselves from the Republican and Democratic parties as we learn to stand on our own two feet. The way to do this starts with registering as an Independent. Read your registration carefully. In California, this means we register "Decline to State (DTS). We have a party called the American Independent Party. That is not the same thing as registering Independent. That party has its own platform and candidates. Do this ASAP. We are running out of time. Our children's lives are at stake. The second thing you do is go to a politician's record. That is easier now that we can get the information on the Internet by looking at City Council, County or parish meeting minutes, mostly also on the Internet. The national Congressional Record for each office holder can be found at the Washington Post. Next, follow the money. Look up campaign statements or go to www.opensecrets.org. Sometimes you'll have to drive down to your City Hall where they have to show them to you. Now go out and vote accordingly. Hopefully, we'll see more and more independent candidates. The sooner the better. George Washington was horrified at the thought of political parties. Let's make him proud. Remember that the Republican and Democratic parties have been vacated. Good people have left in so many numbers that most that remain registered Republican or Democrat are basically either political fanatics or are ignorant or are trying to manipulate those parties from within. Some are even in it for the money. All of these reasons enable those parties to continue their corrupt agendas. You must demand candidates that don't take the money and then you must vote accordingly. This is your responsiblity. You must take back the ownership of your country. As I finish, I picture all the excuses the reader must be coming up with to justify the status quo or NOT taking action now. There are hundreds of reasons the rationalizing or procrastinating American can use to force America into a steeper decline. Most don't even realize that our Empire is in descent. Hell, what am I talking about? I am preaching to mostly sheep, lemmings and ostriches and nobody likes a preacher. Go back and slap another movie into your DVD player. What was I thinking?
